Kudos

As John receives kudos concerning his books and public speaking from people around the USA (and sometimes from countries other than the USA), we will post them here, with the latest we’ve received at the top. By no means are these the only kudos John receives…they are just the ones we choose to share with the class. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

I just read your article in today’s News and Observer (Women, reclaim authority over kids). One word describes this article.  Outstanding!!!!! Simply outstanding!  This article should be on the front page!

Hopefully many mothers will get this message and make it a pleasure again to be around their kids.

Thank you,

Stephanie

Dr. Rosemond,

Thank you for coming to Eastminster tonight. An hour after I came through the door my 4 year old was upstairs, quickly sent to his room for bad manners at the dinner table. We are on our way. I knew we should’ve made arrangements for my husband to be at the event! :( Where are all of your videos? Thank you for coming. I would’ve loved to have stayed behind and talked with you, however, as a recovering helicopter mom, I had to go home and put my new non-methods into practice! We will be in touch! You rock.

Dear John,

I am an Australian mother of 5 children. I home-schooled my eldest 4 children through their primary years and they are doing fine. My youngest,a full schoolie now 17, has tried every trick in the book with me. I had fallen back with my authoritative parenting approach, but after finding your website I am now back on track. Thanks so much. May God bless you.

PS We need you in Australia!

Mr. Rosemond,

I am a junior high guidance counselor and a parent of three children.  I want to thank you for sharing your simple, honest parenting tips with a society that desperately needs them.  I frequently share your advice and columns with parents as it seems it is the only place to easily access a dose of real medicine instead of a placebo!  When I read your column, I appreciate your insight and frankness.  Thanks for giving me a set of functional tools to use as I try to help shape young lives.

Sincerely,

Sharla

RE: “Fooled by Parenting Advice from the 70′s” article in Lima News, Lima, Ohio

Good Morning John: Just a quick note thanking you for your insights on the above referenced article:

My wife and I met you at an event in Florida several years ago and enjoyed your presentation and conversation afterwards.  I remember when you signed one of your books to our children “Because I said so!” as a key reminder that our “job” is not raise children, but to raise adults and their obligations are to do as we say.  That time with you in FL helped my wife and I improve our parenting attitude and behavior and we take pride in getting periodic compliments about our children’s’ behavior as productive, respectful and accountable not as a piece of feedback to make us whole, but rather as confirmation that our children are learning and applying sound practice in life, hopefully to serve them and their communities in a positive way.

Keep the faith and keep sharing sage advice with fellow parents and future parents out there, I’m thankful our Lima News publishes your work on a regular basis!

Dear John,

This is my first fan letter. I’m not married, I don’t have kids, but I wanted to thank you for The Well-Behaved Child. The penny dropped for me when I read that discipling the child relieves him of the burden of having to rebel against his parents. Now I have a better understanding of what the Bible means when it says, “Take my yoke upon you…for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt. 11: 29-30.” Relieved of the burdn by allowing God to lead, I am free.

Hi Mr. Rosemond,

My husband and I met you in Branson at the HSLDA conference. Since Branson I have either been listening to your CDs, reading your books, or on your website daily. I have laughed, cried, been enlightened….and it is working because I have heard “Mom, you’re so mean” and “you’re making me cry” . LOL

Just want to say thank you!! Your message is like the balm of Gilead for this mom’s soul. I get it. I understand. What I’ve known in my gut has been validated. I am thinking more clearly, able to make confident choices, and have more peace in my role as mom. In these last weeks I have been working on me and that alone has made a HUGE difference. We just started tickets this week for our younger two. Going great. I am just about in tears in saying how grateful I am for your desire and determination to share these truths the Lord has revealed to you. You have gotten to the heart/root of the matter (parenting) where transformation is able to take place as opposed to a surface fix. Thank you, Thank you!!

Thank you again. Keep on keeping on!!
